Liv learned to play poker in 2005 and began playing online poker as a serious activity then turned professional at the start of 2008. she became the TV presenter and journalist for Gutshot TV at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Shortly after, she became the host of Challenge TV's on-line coverage of the European Poker Tour, and also appeared as a reporter at the World Series of Poker Europe on WorldSeriesofPoker.com. Liv writes a regular column in industry magazine "Bluff Europe" and has had front cover features in "Gambling Online", "World Poker Tour" and "Online Gambler" magazines.
Liv has become the European Ambassador for Online Poker site AbsolutePoker.com and had a numerous tournament successes both live and online, including winning the European Ladies Championships 2008 for $30,000, a $42,000 cash in the 2009 WPT Championships, two final tables in WPT Preliminary events and two World Series of Poker cashes in her first outing in 2008
Liv Boeree won the European Ladies Championship in 2008, and she has now jumped out onto the tournament trail as a sponsored player by Absoulte Poker. Boeree cashed in 49th place at the Aruba Poker Classic in October 2008, and she followed that up with another cash in the no-limit hold'em bounties event at the 2009 Aussie Millions, wherein she had a bounty on her head. Her seventh-place finish earned her a cash worth $13,426.
